Assessing and addressing co-morbid depression and generalised anxiety disorder

During ECNP 2022, Dr Iria Grande sat down and discussed how major depressive disorder (MDD) is frequently co-morbid with generalised anxiety disorder. This may negatively affect treatment response and remission and longer treatment may be required to address both diagnoses and their interaction. Dr Grande also revealed how if a patient presents with MDD, she will assess them for an anxiety disorder if they are presenting with symptoms of such.
